The new Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max, announced on the 14th of September 2021, was launched on the 24th of September 2021, and is the Apple company’s biggest iPhone upgrade yet. The iPhone 13 Pro Max is Apple’s premium smartphone offering for 2021, seated at the top of the iPhone 13 range. It is accompanied by the regular iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Mini, and iPhone 13 Pro models.
Armed with a lot of epic new features, the iPhone 13 Pro Max measures 160.80 x 78.10 x 7.65mm (height x width x thickness) and weighs 240.00 grams. It comes in the colour options of Graphite, Gold, Silver, and Sierra Blue colours. The smartphone still does not come with a charger in the box, just like the previous year’s models, but comes with only a Lightning to USB-C cable.

Camera
The front camera is now at the far left on the iPhone 13 Pro Max. It still remains 12MP, and can record up to 4k60 HDR. The iPhone 13 Pro Max now also comes with a smaller notch. Apple has however, completely updated the rear camera system of the iPhone. The first thing which is most noticeable is that the cameras are much larger. Apple has also included sensor shift stabilization and also updated all of the sensors so they capture more light.
The smartphone also has autofocus on the ultra-wide camera. There are new camera settings, such as the cinematic mode, photo styles (allows you to change the overall style of the camera) and Apple ProRes. There is also an amazing new feature called Macro Photography, which enhances camera quality by paying attention to even the tiniest details on camera.
Storage
From the four new memory configurations and four epic colour options, there are up to 16 different iPhone 13 Pro Max variants to choose from this year. Apple has upgraded the smallest memory configuration to 128GB on this outing and the storage now tops out at a mind-blowing 1TB, perfect for those who are in need of larger storage space.
There’s also 6GB of RAM on board, which is an improvement from the previous 4GB of storage, so there is an all-round increase in storage.
Design and Display
The iPhone 13 Pro Max comes with a 6.7-inch touchscreen display and has a resolution of 1284 x 2778 pixels, with a pixel density of 458 pixels per inch (PPI). The smartphone has a Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion which gives a faster, more responsive feel. However, in a bid to save battery life, and since this is an adaptive refresh rate, the panel does not run at 120 Hz all the time.
The iPhone 13 Pro Max packs an IP68 rating against dust and water resistance and a set of front-facing Dolby Atmos speakers which are way better compared to the iPhone 12 Pro range. If you are the type that is into wireless audio, Apple does not support fancy Bluetooth codecs like aptX and LDAC, but AAC will still work with headphones fairly enough. Also, with a “ProMotion” 120Hz LTPO-backed panel, animations and scrolling appear much smoother and more convenient than before.

Tests have revealed that the iPhone 13 Pro Max has an impressively faster charging rate, going from 0-100% within 90 minutes. The smartphone is also capable of reaching charging speeds of up to 27W.
Price and Availability
Year over year, the iPhone prices are quite identical. However, this year, there is an additional storage option for the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Last year, with the iPhone 12 Pro Max, there were the options of 128GB, 256GB and 512GB.
This year, the iPhone 13 Pro Max has an additional option for 1TB, which brings it from $1,099 (at the lowest storage option) all the way up to $1,599 for the highest storage option (1TB).
