When unboxing the phone, you’ll notice that the Galaxy S20 FE doesn’t look or seem cheap. It sports a strong attractive design, thanks to the rounded corners and plastic back. For more fascinating designs, the Galaxy S20 FE stands out in six color options which include White, Red, Orange, Mint, Lavender, and Navy.

Samsung made a couple of design changes in the name of cheap price tag, but as we aforementioned, this device doesn’t look or seem cheap. The traditional glass back is now replaced with a polycarbonate (plastic) cover. Samsung really did a nice job in the design by maintaining those curves around the edges thereby making the device more solid and unified.

When you compare the Galaxy S20 FE with the regular Galaxy S20, you’ll easily notice that the former has thicker bezels than the other. However, the Galaxy S20 FE is more utilitarian than the regular Galaxy S20 in terms of design.

Looking at the back of the Galaxy S20 FE, it does feature that off-center camera module as the rest of other Samsung’s lineup in 2020. This is something that’s somehow outdated as most recently produced smartphones comes with center or circle-shaped camera module contrary to that of Galaxy S20 FE.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE approximately measures 6.29 x 2.93 x 0.33-inches and weighs 190g which is similar to OnePlus 8T (6.3 x 2.9 x 0.3), but a bit thicker and weighs more than the regular S20 (5.9 × 3 × 0.1-inches, 163g).

One thing you would love to see on the Galaxy S20 FE design is the in-display fingerprint scanner contrary to the rear of sided optical sensor on most smartphones. Unfortunately, you might experience some false negatives while trying to unlock your phone, so you’ll have to press and hold your thumb strongly for it to unlock.

Despite its cheap price, the Galaxy S20 FE doesn’t cut corners on the water-resistant technology that’s on other Samsung’s lineup. Samsung’s latest S20 FE dust-proof and water-resistant offering is IP68 rated. Making the smartphone to survive inside water for up to 30 minutes. This will give you peace of mind when you’re working in the rain with the phone or took it to the pool to take some selfies of you while swimming.

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE: Display and Ports

On the display, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE’s 6.5-inches FHD+ Super AMOLED display delivers a refresh rate of 120Hz which is similar to the rest of the S20 line-up. The ultra-smooth refresh rate is quite impressive in a device of this price segment. Unfortunately, you’ll have to manually switch between 60Hz and 120Hz in the settings unlike the adaptive motion smoothness option found on the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.

A welcome feature on the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is the upgraded 240Hz touchscreen rate coupled with the 120Hz refresh rate. This gives the phone the fastest response ever seen on any smartphone, making the Galaxy S20 FE an ideal choice for gamers on a budget.

Also, the Galaxy S20 FE offers an 84.8% screen-to-body ratio, 20:9 aspect ratio, 1080 X 2400 pixels resulting in 393ppi Pixel density all contributing to a more broader viewing experience.

Outdoor usage will be a dream come true on the Galaxy S20 FE as the phone scored a result of 679 nits with Adaptive Brightness on. This is far more above to that of the latest Apple iPhone 12 (570 nits), and slightly ahead of the brightness of both OnePlus 8T and Pixel 5 (678 nits).

As usual, you’ll have a USB-C port for charging your device or file transfer. On the left side, you’ll see a microSD card slot that is built into the SIM tray. So just pop it out, and add up to 1TB additional storage through microSD. Unfortunately, there’s no audio jack just like Apple iPhone, so you’ll have to rely on AirPods for you to listen to music or watch movies.

 Samsung Galaxy S20 FE: Camera

The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE offers one of the best camera performance for this price tag, though it doesn’t enjoy any of the largest degree megapixel counts found in most S20 models. The Galaxy S20 FE offers a trio wide-angle, telephoto rear camera lens along with a 32-MP camera upfront.

The triple rear camera consists of a 12-MP (f/1.8) wide-angle primary lens, 12-MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide ultra-wide shooter, and an 8-MP (ƒ/3.0) telephoto lens.

Interchanging between the triple camera lenses can be easily done by tapping and holding any of the compatible icons of the camera app. Unfortunately, there’s an absence of the laser autofocus present in the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.

The dot-hole notch houses the 32-MP (f/2.2 ) selfie camera which gives you a regular and ultra-wide selfie option, allowing you to fit in a lot of people in the shot. As normal tradition with Samsung smartphones, the selfie camera normally over-smooth photos, but that can be controlled by manually setting it to your choice through the wand-icon.

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE: Performances, Software and Battery Capacity

The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is available in a 5G network configuration. The Galaxy S20 FE packs a high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor with a RAM size of 6GB which is double the size of 12GB found on the regular Galaxy S20. You’ll also get an inbuilt storage of 128GB which can further be expanded up to 1TB via microSD card. Unfortunately, the microSD card slot is also shared with the SIM card slot on the same tray. So you’ll have to choose either a double SIM or single SIM with additional storage.

On everyday use, the Galaxy S20 FE responds fast whether you’re playing high-end games like PUBG, or running dozens of open apps at the same time.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE runs on the Android v10 operating system on top of Samsung’s OneUI 2.5 interface which is the same on Galaxy S20 and other Samsung’s flagship devices. The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE offers all the impressive software features more than it’s expensive siblings. It supports wireless Dex on TVs which allow you to navigate through your TV while using your smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE can last more than 24 hours upon full charge. The device comes with 4500 Li-Po non-removable battery which is slightly bigger than that of Galaxy S20 Plus (4000). Above all, the Galaxy S20 FE ships with a 15w fast charger
