Although the release of the all new Samsung Galaxy S22 series is still quite a long way away, with a January or February 2022 launch date highly likely, several leaks have already spread wide concerning the specifications of the phone. Most of the leaks for the Samsung Galaxy S22 have placed their attention on upgraded cameras. However, other rumors have the Galaxy 22 predicted to get Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 895 chip or use its own Exynos 2200 with AMD graphics.
There is also news about a thinner design, slightly smaller displays for the regular and Pro models and a possible under-display camera. The Galaxy S22 is the next big flagship from Samsung, and since the Samsung Galaxy Note 21 was cancelled, will be the first big traditional phone from the company to come out in a year.

Camera
According to rumours, the main camera will come in at 108MP with an f/1.8 aperture and an upgraded sensor. The ultra-wide-angle camera will stick to 12MP, and a brace of telephoto cameras will sit at 10MP but come with improved sensors and larger pixel sizes, likely enabling better low-light photography. There are also claims that Samsung is working on a new super detailed photo mode for the Galaxy S21 Ultra that would better leverage its 108MP sensor.

The regular Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus could include a 50MP main camera lens, plus 12MP ultrawide and telephoto lenses. On the 50MP camera front, one rumour has it that the Galaxy S22 is going to use an RGBW sensor. While most phone camera sensors rely on red, green, and blue (RGB) sub-pixels to reproduce colors for photographs, this rumored 50MP sensor adds a fourth white sub-pixel, thus RGBW. Design and Display
If alleged leaked Galaxy S22 diagrams are to true, the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Pro will carry similar designs to their S21 predecessor but with smaller dimensions. The regular S22 could measure 149.98 x 70.56 x 7.65mm, compared to 151.7x 71.2 x 7.9mm. And the Galaxy S22 Pro (not the Plus) could be 157.43 x 75.83 x 7.65mm for the S22 Pro; the S21 Plus was 161.5 x 75.6 x 7.8mm. These include a massive main camera flanked by four smaller sensors, and a possible active cooling system. The Samsung Galaxy S22 and Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus will probably look similar to their predecessors, with the S22 Ultra rumored to be getting a more angular design reminiscent of the Galaxy Note range.

In terms of colour, the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus will come in black, green, pink gold and white varieties, while the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be available in black, green, white and a dark red model. The S21 topped out at 1500 nits brightness, so the S22 is probably going to be the same or better. In fact, it is rumoured to hold the brightest OLED screen ever featured on a Samsung phone. The Galaxy S22 would be 6.06 inches (down from 6.2 inches on the S21); the S22 Plus would have a 6.5-inch panel (down from 6.7 inches); and the Galaxy S22 Ultra would be 6.81 inches (down from 6.9 inches).
Processor Specification
Inside the phone, it is expected to be powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 2200 which will feature an AMD GPU, in some markets, with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 used elsewhere. There are also claims that the 2200 will be an octa-core chip, with a single Cortex-X2 core running at 2.9GHz, three big Cortex-A710 cores at 2.8GHz, and four energy-efficient Cortex-A510 cores at 2.2GHz. As expected it’s bolstered by an AMD GPU with 1250MHz clock speeds.
