The Tecno Pouvoir 4 is one of the few phones with big battery capacity. That’s why it’s normally called “the battery king”. Since the official launch on July 07, 2020, the Pouvoir 4 is just more than a powerhouse. The Tecno Pouvoir series are widely regarded because of their huge battery capacity. The Tecno Pouvoir 4 sports more than what we have on our review. The big 7-inch display, teardrop selfie camera, quad-camera set-up, 3GB + 32GB storage, all of which compliments the massive 6000mAh battery capacity led us to the conclusion that the Pouvoir 4 is the perfect option for enthusiasts who want an all-round phone performance that can handle decent day-to-day smartphone activities.
Tecno Pouvoir 4: Design
Tecno Pouvoir 4 is one of the most beautiful smartphones when you first pick it up. The color gradient on the rear will steal people’s attention when light reflects on it. The budget-friendly Tecno smartphone offers a beautiful design color cut-out texture on the front and a perfect teardrop notch display on the front panel. Unfortunately, Tecno still struck with that old rectangular camera module design, although enthusiasts would love to have something more stylish like that of Tecno Spark 6.
The camera module on the rear side of the mid-range Tecno Pouvoir 4 device sports a rectangular camera module with the LED flash housed right beside the camera set-up. There’s no single change in part of the camera design, making the Pouvoir 4 have that same look as other Pouvoir series smartphones.
On the front panel, the Pouvoir 4 sports a teardrop notch that houses the 8MP selfie shooter, along with two LED lights (although I would have preferred a punch-hole or pop-out camera but it’s ok since the phone is big enough).

There’s a textured orange color specifically designed for the Google Assistant button. The button works even when the phone is locked. On the left side, you’ll find a power and volume button perfectly placed to avoid mistakenly hitting any button.
Alongside the rectangular camera module on the rear, a fingerprint scanner sits right behind the phone’s camera, with the Pouvoir 4 and Tecno brand name boldly inscribed right below the sensor. This is something we’ve seen on other Tecno smartphones as opposed to the latest in-display or side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Tecno Pouvoir 4 comes in Cosmic Shine, Ice Jadeite, and Fascinating Purple color options.
Tecno Pouvoir 4: Display
Coming to the display, the Tecno Pouvoir 4 features a massive screen display. As aforementioned before, the smartphone comes with a massive 7-inches IPS LCD, an aspect ratio of 20.9:5 to give a 90.55% screen to body ratio. Unfortunately, the screen resolution struct at 720p which is very low for this big display. This is one of the few aspects Tecno needs to work on, to give enthusiasts what they fully deserved. However, the screen resolution works perfectly for streaming content on Netflix or YouTube.
The 7-inches display can equally perform the function of a smartphone and tablet at the same time. The Tecno Pouvoir 4 is an all-in-one investment that one ought to venture into. However, the big screen might sometimes be a burden to carry along, but if you have a handbag or big pocket where you can easily slide the phone, then that won’t be a problem.

This is the part that’ll make you love the phone more. The Tecno Pouvoir 4 camera is surely more than what we expected on a device of this price tag.
The Tecno Pouvoir 4 rear quad camera set-up compromises of a 13MP primary sensor, 2MP depth sensor, 2MP micro-lens, and QVGA sensor, along with a quad-LED flashlight. The quad-camera takes better photos in more lighted environments compared to areas with poor lighting.

On the front panel, the teardrop notch houses the 8MP selfie camera along with a dual flashlight that is positioned on two sides of the camera.
There are several modes to choose from on this AI camera such as Panorama, bokeh, beauty, portrait, and panorama.
Tecno Pouvoir 4: Performance
Performance-wise, nothing beats the Tecno Pouvoir 4 for this price tag. It’s fully powered by a MediaTek Helio A22 which clocks at 2.0GHz. The phone is further implemented by a 3GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage which can be expanded.
The Tecno Pouvoir 4 runs on HiOS 6.1 based Android v10 (it’s also listed in the Android v11 beta program). It takes the Pourvoir 4 a mere 27-seconds to boot up, unlike most smartphones. The MediaTek chip-set works impressively on this device, and you won’t experience any itches, logs, or freeze when playing high-end mobile games.
For daily tasks, the phone’s performance is absolutely exceptional. Running multiple apps is as fast as flash except when running RAM-hungry apps. You’ll definitely enjoy this device, especially when browsing with many open tabs, while at the same time scrolling through your Facebook news feed.
You can also play high-end games with this device. Games with low graphics such as Asphalt 9 or Ninja Arashi played well on this device. Unfortunately, high graphics games such as PUBG will play well only on medium settings to avoid lags during gameplay.

The Tecno Pouvoir 4 is fully backed by a massive 6000mAh battery. This would be your perfect companion, especially when going for a long journey, or in an area where there’s a low power supply.
Unfortunately, one problem with a mid-range smartphone that has a big battery capacity is that they rarely come with fast chargers. This device is no exception as it managed to come with a 10w charger which is too poor for a smartphone of this battery size. To fully charge the Pouvoir 4 it’ll take close to 3hours, but you’ll get up to 4 days of active service upon full charge.

The Tecno Pouvoir 4 can be bought starting from ₦51,000 ($133) on gadgetsmart.ng or any leading online store in Nigeria. A new variant Pouvoir 4Pro with 4GB + 64GB storage has been launched in Kenya but not available in Nigeria yet.
Overall, Pouvoir 4 is a budget-friendly smartphone that shouldn’t be overlooked. It comes with more amazing features, and with these impressive performances, you’ll really get more than what you paid for. Despite the huge battery size, you still get a solid performance and photos rounded up by attractive design.
