The Smart HD 2021 is focused on smartphone fans who are looking forward to upgrading from a basic feature handset to a highly-endowed smartphone. While the device flaunts all entry-level features, it gets the job perfectly done for most of the usage scenarios.

The latest Infinix Smart HD 2021 offers a great value proposition for its price. The Samsung Galaxy MO1 Core and Xiaomi Redmi 9A are the closest competitors to this phone. Infinix Smart HD 2021: Design and Aesthetics

The Smart HD 2021 body is made from high-quality plastic material with glass upfront. The phone sports a unique V-shaped pattern on it’s back that added to the enticing design of the phone. This smartphone feels compact and handy, thanks to its small screen size and 158.3 x 75.2 x 9.8 mm dimensions. When it comes to physical overview, the phone is simply designed and perfect for a smartphone of this price.

As for ports and connectors, the Infinix Smart HD 2021 has its power button and volume rockers perfectly positioned on the right side. The top edge sports a 3.5mm audio jack for wired earphone fans. The microphone and micro USB port are well positioned on the bottom, whereas its speaker grill is located on the bottom area of the rear panel.

The Infinix Smart HD 2021 square-shaped camera stack looks great and adds to the impressive design of the phone. The phone is available for purchase in three main color options including Topaz Blue, Obsidian Black, and Quartz Green. The Infinix Smart HD 2021 overall design looks great just like every other budget smartphone, so there’s nothing much to complain about here.

Infinix Smart HD 2021: Display

The Infinix Smart HD, just like its name packs a 720 pixels display. Its compact form sports a 6.1-inches HD+ display. Upfront, there’s a waterdrop notch present that houses the 5-MP selfie camera. For reference, the Galaxy MO1 Core has huge black bezels on top as well as the bottom, whereas the Smart HD has a better screen to body ratio (85%).

The Infinix Smart HD has a moderate body design, with a 19.5:9 aspect body ratio. Meanwhile, other smartphones of this price range have an HD+ display, so there’s nothing to complain about here, but if you want a Full HD display, you can go for Oukitel C21 which will cost you more. Unfortunately, the media consumption in the smartphone isn’t outstanding, but that’s the normal problem with most entry-level smartphones.

Infinix Smart HD 2021: Camera Review

The Infinix Smart HD 2021 features a single 8-MP rear camera along with a LED flash for low light shots. Meanwhile, this phone’s camera app is loaded with amazing AI features that makes the camera performance great. As earlier mentioned, there’s a 5-MP front camera for selfies.

The square camera module looks like a dual sensor, but not true. In reality, it’s a single camera lens, the other place holder states the AI camera branding while the third one is for LED flash. However, we didn’t expect much from this camera, so we weren’t surprised at the camera result.

When using the camera app, you’ll find out the image looks grainy and lacks detail. However, after making some AI final touches, the photo results will look much better and good for social media uploading. The Infinix Smart HD 2021 camera performance is far behind that of its competitors, but what else can you ask for given the smartphone’s price.

Infinix Smart HD 2021: Hardware Performance and Software

The smartphone is powered by a mid-range MediaTek Helio A20 chipset which is clocked at 1.8GHz. The 12nm SoC paired with 2GB of RAM performs decently, and manages to shine in basic day-to-day tasks. This device is perfect for first-time owners, or students who need a smartphone for casual internet usage or long zoom sessions.

The phone’s graphics are run by PowerVR GE8320 GPU which failed to play high-end games like PUGB, Call of Duty, and others even on low graphics settings. Meanwhile, the Infinix Smart HD 2021 packs a 32GB built-in storage which you can choose to upgrade through a microSD card. If you want a phone that can play high-end games perfectly, then be ready to spend more.

On the software side, the Smart HD runs on Android 10 (Go Edition) based on Infinix XOS 6.2 interface. These two softwares paired together does a great job and brings amazing customization settings to the phone.

Infinix Smart HD 2021: Battery Capacity

The main talking point of this smartphone is its battery capacity. This smartphone is fueled by a massive 5000mAh battery which ships along with a 6 Watt charger. Fortunately, the Smart HD 2021 battery can last for more than 48 hours on moderate usage. Infinix provided a 6W charger which is very slow and will take more than 2 hours to charge the device from 0-100%.

Infinix Smart HD 2021: Price in Nigeria and Availability

The Smart HD 2021 is a pretty solid offering from the Chinese brand and packs some great features like the fingerprint scanner and hefty 5000mAh battery. This smartphone will best serve as a secondary device or for students who needed hefty battery power for assignments, long zoom sessions, and many others. In Nigeria, the smartphone is currently on sale for a retail price of ₦45,000 (roughly $113). You can buy the phone at any leading gadgets or phone store in Nigeria.

However, you can slightly extend your budget to buy Oukitel C21 or Realme C11. The two devices pack a better display, camera set-up, well-polished software experience, and more powerful Helio P60 and G35 chipsets respectively. However, if you can’t go beyond your budget, the Infinix Smart HD is a decent device and a better option when it comes to battery.
