Price and Specs of Asus ZenBook Duo 14 (UX482) 2021

What I like best about the Asus ZenBook Duo 14 is that you can’t tell what you’ll see when you open the lid just by looking at it. I still get a kick out of seeing its secondary 12.6-inch touchscreen rise from above the keyboard to meet the bottom of the main 14-inch display, despite the fact that I’ve opened and closed it countless times. One screen merge into the next, and with ASUS software, that slim display becomes more useful than you might think (and certainly more useful than Apple’s Touch Bar). The design comes with a few compromises, but they may be worth it.

It is Asus’s most innovative laptop, with a dual-screen built into its enticing light-weighted body. It is the successor to the Zenbook Duo 14 UX481. With its four-sided frameless NanoEdge display, this 14-inch laptop provides a superbly immersive viewing experience. Thanks to the new tilting feature, the 12.65-inch secondary touchscreen provides effortless ergonomics and seamless workflows.

The ZenBook Duo 14 allows you to complete tasks in style: calmly, efficiently, and without fuss. It’s your powerful and elegant next-level companion for mobile productivity and creativity, with the ScreenPadTM Plus secondary display and a brand-new tilting design that provides effortless ergonomics and seamless workflows. ZenBook Duo 14 brings you all the benefits of tomorrow’s technology today, thanks to the latest 11th Gen Intel® CoreTM processors.

Asus ZenBook Duo 14 UX482 General Review

Asus ZenBook Duo 14 UX482 General Review

The Asus ZenBook Duo (UX482) is the company’s latest dual-screen laptop. Is it, however, worthwhile to spend the extra money on this outlandish 2021 design?

The Asus ZenBook Duo 14 ticks all of the usual boxes, as do many other high-end performance laptops. A 14-inch Full HD touchscreen display with a wide color gamut, dedicated graphics, and Thunderbolt 4 ports are available. It also ups the ante by slapping a second screen in the middle of the deck, promising users more screen real estate to flex their creative muscles on.

In terms of size and power, this is the smallest model in the ZenBook Duo lineup. If you’re looking for something a little larger and a bit more luxurious, this is the place to be.

At first glance, the ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 UX482 appears to be very similar to its predecessor, the Zenbook Duo, with the main difference being the new tilt ScreenPad. This laptop has a lightweight magnesium aluminum alloy body that measures 2.76′′ x 8.74′′ x 0.67′′ 0.68′′ and weighs 1.62 kg.

The lid top features a concentric circle pattern and the Asus logo in glossy silver. When the lid is opened, the 14-inch 1080p panel speeds along the edges of the screen, with a webcam at the top thin bezel, and underneath the main screen is a 12.6-inch secondary screen called the ScreenPad Plus by Asus.

The main screen of the Asus Zephyrus Duo 14 UX482 is a 14-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) display with 400-nits of brightness and 100 percent sRGB colors. With stylus support, this screen has a 93 percent screen-to-body ratio. It is also PANTONE Validated for professional-grade color accuracy and TUV Rheinland-certified for low blue-light emissions, making it suitable for extended creative sessions.

Because this touchscreen display is built on an IPS panel, it provides a bright and vibrant display with a 16:10 aspect ratio that supports 97 percent of the DCI-P3 wide color space for immersive visuals.

The Secondary Display:

The Zephyrus Duo 14 UX482’s secondary display is a 12.6-inch ScreenPad Plus with dimensions of 12.6 x 3.4in. This screen, too, is built on an IPS panel with a resolution of 1,920 x 515 and stylus support. This display, like the main screen, has an anti-glare feature that reduces glare and reflections for improved readability.

The new ASUS ScreenPad Plus tilts and is powered by the new ScreenXpert 2 software, which ASUS claims has been improved to make cross-screen multitasking and creativity even easier. You can save apps into groups if you want to open specific tools on both screens at the same time, or you can snap apps to the ScreenPad and switch between the displays.

Asus ZenBook Duo 14 UX482 Battery Specification

When looping a 720p movie with the brightness set to 120 nits, the Asus ZenBook Duo lasted a respectable 12 hours and 44 minutes. Most days, after eight hours of working and listening to music, I’d still have more than half of the battery left.

While I never had to worry about battery levels, it was comforting to know that the supplied mains adapter will quickly recharge your device. After half an hour, you’ll get 39 percent from empty, and roughly 65 percent after an hour. Two hours on the pump will fill the battery to 90% capacity, while it will take approximately two hours and 45 minutes to fully recharge the Asus ZenBook Duo.

This power-efficient quad-core SoC has four cores that run at 2.8 GHz base speed and 4.7 GHz turbo boost. This laptop’s NVIDIA graphics card produces silky-smooth visuals, enhancing your work in photo and video editing applications.

Given the unusual shape, you might expect Asus to make some compromises in terms of physical connectivity, but the ZenBook Duo is surprisingly well-equipped.

You get two Thunderbolt 4 ports for connecting monitors and drawing power from the power adapter. There’s also a more traditional Type-A USB port (3.2, Gen 1) and an HDMI port – albeit the older 1.4 spec rather than the more recent 2.0.

The price of the Asus ZenBook Duo 14 UX482 begins at $1000 which is approximately N4,115,000.00 . The price, however, rises depending on the model configuration you choose.
