They’re really taking this task seriously that the ROG phone line is among the best if not the best when it comes to professional gaming niche device. So far, so good each year’s ROG series goes beyond what we always anticipated. The Asus Phone 3 sets the target for the entire gaming industry. Mobile gaming industries still have a lot of challenges to undergo in their road for expertise.
Exuberant and distinctly, the Asus ROG Phone 3 is a smartphone where every feature has been engineered with the best modern technology to cater above the need of an average consumer. During the launch, Asus revealed that they’ve upgraded the entire gaming aspects of the ROG phone series such as improved AirTriggers, Armory Crate feature, and lots more. The ROG phone 3 design is something you can’t take your eyes off. By mere looking at the device, you’ll notice that the phone comes in a dimension of 171 x 78 x 9.9 mm while being 6.7-inch long, making it easy to slide into your pockets. Unfortunately, the phone is a bit heavy, weighing a mighty 8.5-ounce. Carrying it about might be a problem for you, and you can’t hold it on your hands for a long time — because of the heat and weight.
Just like previous ROG Phone models, the ROG phone 3 ships in that same outer design aesthetics though the internal feature has been improved. The 1080 x 2340-mm AMOLED glass is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The 6.6-inch AMOLED screen works at a framerate of 144Hz. On the back of the device, you’ll notice backlighting showcasing the bland logo of Asus — that’ll be a beauty to behold especially at night. Overall, the ROG phone 3 is a pretty looking device, what really got me think of going for one is the all-screen glass, integrated with some black bezels on the top and bottom of the device. The left side of the device is where Asus really made wonders, as there’s a removable plastic plug that houses a patented ports. That’s where Asus integrated the cooling fan, and I can proudly say that the ROG phone 3 is the first smartphone I’ve ever come across that features an external cooling system.
Thankfully, Asus has not only shifted it’s focused on design and performance, but also to camera features. This time around, the camera of the ROG Phone 3 is comparable to that of the iPhone 11 series or the Pixel 4. The cameras are well equipped with a 3 dot rear camera that consists of a 64-MP primary shooter, 13-MP ultra-wide sensor, and 5-MP macro camera, while the selfie (front) camera is integrated with 24-MP crisp camera coverage.
The 64-MP camera offers a variety of options for taking bright photos like; Motion Tracking, Time Lapse, Macro, Portrait, and Night Mode. The camera can shoot up to 8k video resolutions. Asus has also added customizable settings for Pro video mode users.
What makes the Asus ROG Phone 3 more of a gaming console than a regular device is its performance. It really has a lot of specs to showcase in this category. To begin with, every day social media life is fully active on this device. The ROG phone 3 is a packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 plus central processor, and 8GB-16GB RAM with a 128GB-512GB inbuilt memory. It’s really one of the most powerful mobile devices on the market.

During our product review, the battery lasts for 48 hours on some regular phone usage like browsing, a couple of phone calls, a two hours gaming, etc. The battery can manage to last for 24-hours when on a non-stop gaming operation. More to say, you can charge this device from 0-100% in just 2 hours. The 30W HyperFast charger is really doing a great job out here.
