BBNaija known as Big Brother Nigeria, is a reality TV show based on the Big Brother TV series in which 12 contestants live together in an isolated house and compete for a large cash prize worth $100000 at the end of the show by avoiding being evicted. The first season of the show was televised from March 5 to June 4, 2006 and has been consistent in its show that glues viewers to their screens.
We have had different editions of Big Brother Naija and each year has its own suspense, twist etc. The fourth edition was termed “Pepper them” aired on 30th June, 2019 aired on Dstv channel 128 and Gotv channel 29 in which Mercy Eke emerged as the first female winner.
The previous edition themed, “Lockdown” edition premiered on 19th July 2021 on Africa Magic Dstv 198 an Gotv channel 29. Ex-housemate, Ebuka Obi returned as host. Laycon won and took home around #85 million with lots of gifts.
The big brother season 6 known as “Big brother Naija shine your eye” was the sixth season of the reality show. It premiered on 25th July, 2021 which sees Whitemoney go home with a whooping sum of around #90 million. The Big Brother Nigeria has been one of the most anticipated and viewed reality television show in Africa.

How to Apply to Bbnaija 2022
All applicants are required to fulfil the below listed criteria in order to apply for the seventh season. If the requirements are met, you can now apply for the audition.
- You must be emotionally and mentally stable. This is necessary to be able to withstand the heat for three isolated months with the housemates.
- You must be a Nigerian citizen. Non-Nigerian citizens are not given the opportunity to participate.
- You must be at least 22 years of age as at June, 2022. It means be 22 years or above by June, 2022 with prove of birth certificate.
- You must be educated with a minimum degree of O’level qualification. i.e., you must have had your WASSCE, GCE, NECO certificates. It is not compulsory you have university, polytechnic or college of education degrees yet.
- You must have a valid means of identification. You must have any of the following: National Identification Number, passport or voters card.
- If selected for interview (prior to personal interview in Lagos), you may be given some forms to complete and submit like health questionnaire, birth certificate, passport or other means of identification.
- You are expected to meet the physical and psychologically requirements given by medical professionals.
- If selected as a semi-finalist, you must complete the participant form package.
The start date hasn’t been announced but it is likely to start around June/July, 2022. You must be yourself, speak loudly and clearly before submitting the 2 minutes video.
You are expected to get the form at a price of around #80,000 to #100,000 but this year’s own may be a bit different.

Contestants must also take note that the audition will include a 2 minutes video telling big brother why he/she deserves to be a housemate. You must be 21 years or older and possess a valid identity document.

Starting Date of Bbnaija 2022
As of now, the starting date hasn’t been officially announced but judging by previous seasons, the start date falls between June/July, 2022. The drama, suspense, etc will aired on Dstv channel 198 and Gotv Channel 29.
Bbnaija Audition Date
The audition date hasn’t been announced but BBNaija has promised to disclose the audition date soon.
The audition will be strictly online and free.
