DJI OM4 2021 REVIEW: SPECIFICATIONS AND PRICE IN NIGERIA

The recently released DJI Osmo Mobile 4 (DJI OM4) is an excellent, affordable, and solid three-legged gimpal with an all-day strong battery. Although DJI is widely known for top-notch drones, when it comes to Gimpal, the company’s line of product is just as famous. Smartphone users can now enjoy free handling of their devices when taking selfies, or videos. The DJI OM4 is an upgraded version of the Osmo Mobile 3. The OM4 is very nice, and good gimpal, especially to iPhone users. The gimpal basis is easy to handle, although some features might be hard to set up, or might not be available at all depending on your type of mobile device.

The DJI OM4 was released on August 26, 2020, a year after the DJI Osmo Mobile 3 was launched. The outer part is supported by a pistol-style handle, alongside a three-axis standing – this makes it easy to stand firm on a table or stool. The construction caliber is made from high-quality polycarbonate, supported by a rubberized mount. The DJI OM 4 is about 1 pound heavier than the OM 3 model but is more impacted overall. The body measures about 163×99.5×46.5 mm when folded, and 276×119.6×103.6 mm when unfolded.

DJI OM4 2021 REVIEW: SPECIFICATIONS AND PRICE IN NIGERIA

In order to bring out a slimmer gimpal, DJI upgraded the connector to a magnetic clamp, with a spring-loaded clutch that’s attached to your phone. Pixel 4 users and phones with center-mounted buttons can’t make use of this gimpal. On the other hand, larger phones like tablets and iPhone 11 or Samsung GalaxyS20 ultra can make use of it but will have to remove the phone’s case – all depending on the thickness and weight of your device.

On the front view, you’ll find an image caption button, a multi-purpose button, and a thumb joystick for making sweeping movements, and tilt. Aside from that, there’s also a battery life light signal. The left part of the phone gimpal features a zoom slider and a camera trigger. There’s also a USB-C charging port, alongside USB-A support for charging your phone.

When it comes to battery capacity, the DJI claims you’ll get 15 hours of active activities when fully charged. The battery takes about 2+ hours to fully charge. The 2,450mAh battery capacity is a decent battery capacity compared to most smartphone batteries. However, the battery cannot be replaced or changed when damaged.

Inside the OM4 pack, you’ll see a magnetic supplement that’ll clutch to your phone, a wrist strap, a screw-in tripod, and a storage sac. There’s also an adapter specifically made for small phones, alongside a guide manual.

In general, the OM 4 connects with your phone through wireless Bluetooth and uses the inbuilt apps for firmware updates, controls, and other custom features. The OM 4 full features will only work best on iOS devices. The app experiences all depend on your Android device. For instance, Android devices like Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra can only record 4k videos, at a resolution of 1080p and 720p, at 30fps. However, there’s no slow-motion module, so you’ll have to use Samsung’s camera if you want to record on slow motion videos.
