Design and Display
The Infinix Hot 30 has a very attractive design with a glass-like holographic back that sets it apart from other similar-class phones. The display is a large 6.78-inch AMOLED display that pushes Full HD+ resolution at 90Hz. While the display is slightly smaller than its predecessor, it is easily the best display in its class. The phone has 12 stereo speakers with DTS surround sound, a strong linear vibration motor, and is Widevine L1 certified, which means you can stream full HD content from services like Netflix.

Infinix Hot 30 Performance
The Infinix Hot 30’s performance has been slightly improved from its predecessor, the Hot 20, with the MediaTek Helio G88 chipset, up to 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of expandable storage. It runs Android 13 out of the box with the XOS skin running on top, which unfortunately comes with a fair amount of bloatware that you might want to spend some time disabling.
The Hot 30’s everyday performance, in general, is pretty decent for a mid-entry device, although you may occasionally experience stutters, which is expected and similar to other Helio G80 headphones.
Gaming
Infinix and Garena have optimized the Hot 30 for Garena’s free-fire game. The phone comes with a very special packaging and a cool-looking protective case, both Infinix and Garena have optimized the game for the phone’s hardware so that you can run high graphics quality at 60 FPS. Although I am not a pro and it is my very first time playing the game, I am very impressed with the graphics performance on the highest graphic setting. The phone doesn’t feel too hot even after gaming for an hour, making it an excellent option for mobile gamers.

Infinix Hot 30 Camera
The Hot 30’s camera is possibly the most capable camera compared to the competition. It has the same 50-megapixel F1.6 sensor that was present on the Hot 20. The camera takes excellent shots, with colors and details looking great, even beating some phones twice its price. However, like mid-entry phone cameras, it doesn’t perform too well in low light, and there is noticeable noise and grain. For selfies, the 8-megapixel front camera is sufficient for casual shots, but it isn’t the best I’ve seen.
Battery Life
One of the things I didn’t like about the Hot 20 was its 18-watt charging wattage, even though it has a good battery life with a 5000 mAh battery. Infinix has thankfully improved that with a faster 33-watt charging wattage on the same battery cell. Though you will need to use its included power brick to achieve that, it still technically supports USB PD charging up to 25 watts. With this improvement, the Hot 30 has an even better battery life, and you can expect to get a full day of use out of it.
Conclusion
At N96,000, the Infinix Hot 30 is a great deal for the features it offers, making it an easy recommendation for anyone looking for a budget phone for gaming. While the phone has a fair amount of bloatware and doesn’t perform too well in low light conditions, its attractive design, excellent display, optimized gaming performance, and great battery life make it awesome.
