All Samsung Galaxy Fitness Trackers, Price and Specifications in Nigeria

When it comes to the best fitness trackers, it’s undoubtedly all about Samsung wearable devices that are built with sleeker designs and features to assist you in workout sessions. There’s no surprise really, Samsung is widely regarded as the best fitness tracker maker, competing against the greatest brands in the market including the likes of Apple, Fitbit, and others.

The South-Korean tech giant has been making fitness trackers since 2013 when it introduced the first Samsung Galaxy Gear. However, we’ve seen iterations of its wearables over the past 8 years, and the company has come into its own with different series of redesigned Galaxy fitness bracelets.

Samsung using its own software “Tizen” offers a similar experience to Wear OS ranges and Apple watches. Tizen is third-party app support that’s slightly limited on Samsung than other brands but offers a lot of big apps like Spotify, WhatsApp, Facebook, and others. Unlike the Apple Watch range, you can use these fitness trackers on both Android and iOS devices. Fortunately, Samsung fitness trackers are generally known to be equipped with strong battery cells, including a plethora of top-end features.

The smartwatch market is getting pretty busy nowadays. The latest Huawei Watch GT2e has emerged as a serious, cheaper alternative and new Wear OS devices such as Oppo Watch are becoming serious contenders to Samsung’s fitness trackers.

On our today’s review, we’ve rounded up a top list of Samsung’s best fitness trackers for you to choose from. The list features favorites like Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro, Galaxy Fit 2, and the sportier Galaxy Watch Active 2. A few years back, the original Samsung Galaxy Watch was the best fitness tracker and still remains a very good one even with the launch of Galaxy Watch 3. The watch is available in two variants; a larger 46mm version that comes with a bright 1.3-inch Super AMOLED display, and the smaller, but thicker 42mm variant.

Interestingly, the two variants feature rotating bezels that you can spin to navigate through the features and menu of the fitness tracker. It’s the easiest way to travel through the fitness bracelet’s operating system and features. Also, the two versions of the watch feature a GPS for tracking your location and Samsung Pay – a payment service that allows you to make a payment right from your wrist.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch is equipped with a 50m waterproof that allows you to track your swimming. Fortunately, we found the Galaxy Watch features to be impressive including a premium-looking timepiece as well. The larger version comes with an outstanding four days of battery life after a single full charge.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is finally released after many months of waiting. The Watch 3 is a huge success, thanks to a serious upgrade that’s second to none. It replaced the original Galaxy Watch that was launched in 2018 and offers a great watch style with the regular timepiece.

Interestingly, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 sports a fantastic-looking wearable that’s slim and weighs light. It’s also a perfect workout companion with numerous workout modes that can trigger automatically including heart rate monitor, GPS, sleep and stress tracking, VO2 Max readings, fall detection, and IP68 rated water-resistant.

Fortunately, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 features a pressure monitoring and electrocardiogram, though they’re not working in most regions. Meanwhile, the fitness tracker has a crisp, bright and circular Super AMOLED display that’s easy to read in all lighting conditions, alongside rotating bezels that are easy to navigate.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 comes in dual size options including a 4mm that’s available in silver, black, and bronze, while the bigger 45mm comes in only black and silver color options. Also, you’ll get either a 1.2-inch or 1.4-inch 360×360 super AMOLED display with 1GB RAM, and 8GB inbuilt storage for storing your favorite songs.

Unfortunately, despite the Galaxy Watch 3 numerous features, it’s very expensive and the battery life could have been better. Nevertheless, it’s a very good fitness tracker and the perfect competitor to Apple Watch.

OS: Tizen | Display: 1.1″ 360 x 360 Super AMOLED | Compatibility: Android and iOS | Band sizes: 20mm | Processor: Dual-core 1.15GHz | Onboard Storage: 4GB | Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth | IP rating: 50m | Battery duration: 2 days | Charging method: Wireless | Price: ₦95,000 (239)

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active faced a lot of criticism after its launch and that’s why the Watch Active 2 model came out just six months after the original Galaxy Watch Active. However, you can still buy the watch, but bear in mind it lacks the mobile internet or digital rotating bezel that’s on the newer version.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active is still considerable instead of the Active 2 because of its cheaper price and it offers the same fitness features and strong battery life. If you can shy away from mobile internet or digital rotating bezel, you can decide to opt for the older Watch Active and save yourself some cash.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 was released just half a year after the original Galaxy Active and it sports a few coveted features we thought were missing from its predecessor. Ever since its inception, Samsung’s Galaxy Active line of fitness trackers are known to be slimmer than the Galaxy Watch and therefore a better alternative for those who want a wearable specifically for working out. Samsung has to sacrifice the rotating bezel to pave way for a slimmer smartwatch.

However, the South-Korean company has instead integrated a digital rotating bezel that you can run your finger around to navigate through the watch’s features. If you want a Samsung-made fitness tracker that’s comfortable to wear when you’re working out, the Galaxy Watch 2 Active is the best choice for you. Amazingly, the watch features a heart rate monitor, automatic workout tracker, GPS, and a 4G onboard storage that lets you upload tracks to your smartwatch and listen via headphones.

There’s a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED display which may sound small, but big enough for a fitness tracker. However, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 might sound expensive, but it’s cheaper than most fitness trackers of this category on the market. If you want a small watch that can act as a workout and casual watch at the same time, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 is a smart choice.

On paper, you’ll find it difficult to differentiate the Samsung Gear Sport from Galaxy Watch, but if you were to compare the two watches you’ll notice a lot of differences. Samsung smoothed out a lot of the problems with the Gear Sport, but if you consider the price, you might consider going for them.

A lot of new features that are on the newer models are here alongside the latest Tizen software so you can access all the apps and features that are on the Galaxy Watch. Also, the Super AMOLED screen is large and easy to navigate. There’s a GPS that can track your location when you’re running and you can upload music on the 4GB inbuilt storage and listen to them through Bluetooth headphones.

Unfortunately, the Samsung Gear Sport overall design isn’t as slickly as mentioned. However, it’s still an attractive smartwatch you may like to always have on your wrist and a more preferable option than other expensive models.

You’ll be amazed at how this health bracelet covers the basics of a smartwatch while still offering the efficiency you crave from a fitness tracker, including automatic sleep tracking, stress monitoring, activity tracking, step counting, heart rate monitoring, and more.

Unfortunately, the Samsung Galaxy Fit 2 won’t give you your accurate heart rate. This is caused by a more affordable heart rate technology known as photoplethysmography sensor. It works by measuring changes on your skin to detect blood volume changes. However, just like the original Galaxy Fit, you’ll have to stay connected to your phone for GPS and there’s no MIL-STD-810G rating, but with a 50m waterproof coverage.

Though it’s not the latest on our list, this vertically slim-screened companion checks all the boxes when it comes to fitness. The sensors and software are capable of monitoring all your daily activities from running to gym workouts, swimming, including your sleep too.

Fortunately, there’s a built-in GPS, up to 50m water-resistant, support for offline music providers like Spotify, and even more firm straps than the original Gear Fit2. Also, the Gear Fit 2 Pro provides beyond fitness tracking work by offering you enough smartwatch functionality that makes you forget it’s a fitness tracker. There’s also a 4GB onboard storage that allows you to store your numerous music and play from Spotify if you are intending to leave your handset at home during workout sessions.
