The Asus Zenbook 14 UX425 is one of the thinnest laptops we have in Nigeria. Currently, slim and light laptops are becoming the order of the day, not only being portable, but they’re also becoming affordable.
It feels good to see manufacturers today producing what the masses like. More to say, people, spend most of their time using their laptops and have to carry it along on all business proposals or meetings. It really won’t be a burden to them as today’s laptops are portable, making it easy to carry about.
A couple of weeks ago, the Taiwan based electronics maker Asus recently introduced the latest range of ZenBook series called Asus ZenBook 14 UX425. It’s currently priced at N345,000 . This Asus gadget weighs just 1.17kg, which is lighter than the 2020 MacBook Air, but a bit compacted with lots of power and versatility. When testing the UX425 features, I was really impressed with what I saw. Now let’s dive into the world of reality and see what Asus latest ZenBook can offer.
The most aspiring aspect of this UX425 laptop is it’s light and thin design. This 14-inch ZenBook series is smaller than most 13-inch models. Asus during the launching program revealed that it has integrated an aluminum alloy for longer-lasting. Nevertheless, the entire UX425 body is made of metals including the bottom and keyboard deck.
Unlike previous models, the UX425 is available in only grey color which Asus depicted as “Wise and Calm”, giving it that innocent calm nature. The entire design is perfectly good, and I must give Asus a grade “A” for this wonderful execution.
At the back of the screen, you’ll notice a sidelined Asus logo boldly drawn on the lid, with a description bearing Zen Series. The brushed metal help prevents fingerprint or crashes from damaging the laptop’s finishing. Overall, it’s strongly built and can be best termed “durable”.
The Asus ZenBook 14 UX425 is well stocked with a 14-inch 4k quality screen alongside 2.9-mm thin bezels by the sides. This is a very smart approach by Asus as it gives space for a larger viewing screen. More to say, the UX425 has a 100% delightful RGB colors and an option for 300 nits maximum brightness. Just like other ZenBook models, the color reproduction was awesome, so it really scores a high mark on our display ranking.
I was extremely excited while testing this UX425. The ZenBook 2020 is well fitted with the latest 10th generation intel ice lake central processor, alongside a Windows 10 operating system. It’s integrated with 16GB of DDR4 RAM and internal storage that could reach up to 1TB.
Amazingly, the ZenBook UX425 comes with the latest NVME M.2 SSDs, which performs 3× better than the standard SATA SSDs. The GPU is well handled by the Intel Iris pro iGPU. This Asus gadget really lives more than expectations. I’m totally overwhelmed by how the processors are well equipped.
When it comes to battery, the ZenBook UX425 has a 67Wh, which is larger than what you’ll get on a normal 14-inch NoteBook series. Corroborated with a lithium-polymer battery, Asus claims that the battery life can last up to 22 hours upon normal usage. Inside the laptop’s pack, you’ll see a 65W charger that you can connect via the USB-C port. However, the battery can take up to 2 hours to fully charge. A 69% battery life can take up to 1 hour upon fast charging as claimed by Asus.
The Asus ZenBook 14 (UX425) is a strong built compact laptop. The mette finish design which prevents scratch and a 100% keyboard backlighting with multi-functional keys are more than enough reasons for you to buy it.
Priced at NGN345,000, the Asus ZenBook 14 (UX425) is our recommended laptop for every business goer. With a 22-hour battery capacity, you won’t have to worry about where to plug in your device while going about your business schedule or going for online classes.
