The Infinix S5, S5 Lite, and S5 Pro were launched as a direct successor to the S4 range released earlier last year. There are lots of improvements by Infinix Mobile on the S5-Series. This is the first time Infinix is featuring a pop-up selfie camera on its mid-range smartphone. The Infinix S5 models are loaded with many captivating designs. However, the S5 and S5 Lite sports a similar design, while the S5 Pro has a completely different design outlook.

The Infinix S5 and S5 Pro models have a similar design outlook while the S5 Pro features a completely different design look. The Infinix S5 models are all made from the same polycarbonate plastic back frame and glass upfront. Actually, they’re one of the best finishes from any Infinix mid-range smartphone. Above all, the Infinix S5 models do not look cheap at any angle, from the curved angles to the glossy finishes.

Color options: Quetzal Cyan, Violet is the only colors available on the Infinix S5, S5 Lite, and S5 Pro, while they’re the only colors on the original Infinix S5. The Infinix S5 Lite and S5 Pro have a unique color options of Midnight Black, and Nebula Black respectively.

The Infinix S5 Pro comes with a notch-less display, thanks to the pop-up selfie camera. This is the first time Infinix is featuring a pop-up selfie camera on its mid-range smartphone. That’s a lot of quality for a device of this price segment. Contrary to that, the Infinix S5, and S5 Lite both sports a dot-hole selfie camera housed at the left-hand side of the device. The only noticeable difference between the Infinix S5 and S5 Lite design is that the S5 has a quad rear camera set-up, while the S5 Lite sports a triple rear camera set-up.

The Infinix S5, S5 Lite, and S5 Pro features a similar fingerprint sensor behind the rear camera set-up and the Infinix Branding logo below it. On the right angle of the S5 models are a well-positioned volume rocker and the power button. Beneath the device is the micro-USB port, 3.5mm audio jack, and a speaker grill. Unfortunately, the Infinix S5, S5 Lite, and S5 Pro won’t be a comfortable for one-hand operation because of their large sizes.

On the display side: We have a similar display set-up on the S5, and S5 Lite, while the S5 Pro has a completely different display. However, the Infinix S5 models display are big and quite good considering their price tag.

The Infinix S5 and S5 Lite features a slightly bigger display of 6.6-inches IPS LCD with a screen resolution of 720 x 1600, 480 Nits of brightness, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Contrary to that, the Infinix S5 Pro sports a smaller display of 6.53-inches, 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and 83.8% screen-to-body ratio.

Just like other Infinix smartphones, the Infinix S5 models are equipped with mid-range processors. However, the Infinix S5 Pro sports a slightly higher processor than the S5, and S5 Lite. This is one thing Infinix failed to improve on as you’ll experience some lags while running RAM hungry apps.

The Infinix S5 and S5 Lite are powered by an octa-core Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 (12 nm) chipset clocked at 2.0 GHz along with PowerVR GE8320 graphics. The Infinix S5 offers a single storage option of 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage, while the S5 Lite sports a dual 3GB + 32GB, and 4GB + 64GB storage options.

The Infinix S5 Pro runs on Mediatek MT6765 Helio P35 (12nm) chipset coupled with double storage options of 4GB + 64GB, and 6GB + 128GB which can further be expanded via the dedicated SDcard slot.

While the S5 models performs perfectly on normal apps, you’ll find them lagging during multitasking like opening seven apps at the same time, then try switching between them. Furthermore, the PowerVR GE8320 graphics does an average job. High-end gamings like Asphalt 9 and PUBG might experience some slowdowns.

The software side: the Infinix S5, and S5 Lite runs on XOS 5.5 based Android 9 Pie operating system. Meanwhile, the S5 Pro runs on the latest Android v10 OS on top of Infinix’s XOS 6.0 user interface. Just like other Infinix Mobile’s smartphones, the S5-Series comes with interesting features like where you can save your WhatsApp status, access your battery saver, and swipe through other customizable options.

The camera front: The camera specs of the Infinix S5, S5 Lite, and S5 Pro differ from each other. The S5 Lite and S5 Pro have a triple camera set-up on the back, while the S5 features a Quad rear camera set-up.

The Infinix S5 is loaded with a quad-camera set-up of 16-MP (f/1.8) primary shooter, 5-MP ultra-wide lens, 2-MP Macro lens, and a depth sensor. Upfront, the dot-hole notch hosts the 32-MP (f/2.0) selfie camera.

However, the Infinix S5 Lite features a triple rear camera set-up consisting of a 16-MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, 2-MP AI lens, and a QVGA lens coupled with a 16-MP selfie camera.

On the rear: The Infinix S5 Pro sports a triple camera set-up which includes a 48-MP (f/1.8) primary shooter, 2-MP depth sensor, and a QVGA low light camera sensor. For the first time, Infinix features a pop-up selfie camera on its mid-range smartphone. Selfies are taken by the 16-MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture.
