Samsung Galaxy A32 Review: Design and Build-up

Samsung Galaxy A32

Amazingly, the Samsung Galaxy A32 sports a very attractive design that could be mistaken for a flagship device. For easy handgrip, the display borders are now slimmer with 164.2 x 76.1 x 9.1 mm dimensions and it’s now lighter weighing a mere 205g. Unlike other A-series, the Galaxy A32 sports a teardrop cutout notch which is surrounded by a near bezel-less display. The rear panel is made of a sturdy plastic finish which is decent for a phone of this price.

Over the back, there’s a vertically arranged camera module with no bump which makes the phone sit comfortably when positioned upright. Similar to other A-series, the Galaxy A32 has a boldly inscribed “Samsung” official logo positioned slightly below the camera bump. Unfortunately, there’s no official IP rating, unlike the Galaxy A72 and A52.

However, Samsung has returned to its early motive of equipping its mid-rangers with a 3.5mm headphone jack. With this in mind, the Samsung Galaxy A32 has an inbuilt headphone jack on the bottom edge which makes you not spend extra cash on wireless earbuds or headphones. Other connection ports on the phone include an SD card/SIM card slot housed in the top left corner. The opposite is the power button which double functions as the fingerprint scanner, alongside the volume rockers.

Unfortunately, due to its plastic back, the Galaxy A32 is not free from fingerprints and smudges. However, Samsung provided a transparent silicon case on the box which will help protect the phone against any scratch. Similar to Samsung Galaxy A52, the Galaxy A32 is available in awesome color options of Awesome Black, Awesome White, Awesome Blue, and Awesome Violet.

Samsung Galaxy A32 Review: Display

When it comes to display, the Samsung Galaxy A32 has no special display features just like other mid-range phones. The 6.5-inches TFT display is showing at 900 x 1600 pixels resolution with up to 270ppi density. Also, there’s an 81.6% screen-to-body ratio which paves way for a broader display. Unfortunately, the Galaxy A32 lacks some of the flagship features including an AMOLED panel and no form of smooth refresh rate. Other issues aside these are not a problem for the A32.

Fortunately, the color reproduction is vivid, smooth, and sharp by default. Also, the phone’s display is too bright and crisp that you can easily view contents while indoor, but might struggle a bit under direct sunshine.

What we love about the Galaxy A32 display is its broad screen size. This will have way for a wider viewing experiencing and will be a perfect option for fans who love having big display smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy A32 Review: Cameras

Moving over to the camera, the Galaxy A32 has a quartet camera array including a 48-MP primary shooter, along with an 8-MP ultra-wide sensor, a 5-MP macro camera, and an obligatory 2-MP depth-sensing camera. Turn around it’s a 13-MP selfie camera positioned on the teardrop cutout notch.

Fortunately, the daylight shots are crisp and well-detailed with outstanding depth of field. However, the color reproduction is a bit saturated though they’re natural and vivid enough to outshine most of its competitors. Unfortunately, lowlight shots are not commendable in the Galaxy A32 with a lack of details and noise around the edges.

Upfront, the 13-MP selfie camera takes excellent and well-detailed photos that are good for social media upload. Also, the selfie camera can take out the subject and blur the entire background perfectly than we expected. When it comes to video, the Galaxy A32 can take 4K videos at 30fps, and 1080p at either 30/120fps.

Samsung Galaxy A32 Review: Hardware, Performance, and Software

The Samsung Galaxy A32 is equipped with an average MediaTek Dimensity 720 5G chipset paired with either 4GB, 6GB, or 8GB of RAM. Also, the graphics are handled by a mid-range Mali-G57 MC3 GPU. Meanwhile, you can choose to buy either the 64GB or 128GB storage variant. Unlike most recent phones, the Samsung Galaxy A32 will offer a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

Fortunately, 2021 will see more debut of 5G smartphones than last year. We’ve already reviewed the Galaxy A52 which will probably launch in April 2021. Also, the arrival of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 480 5G chip paves way for even cheaper 5G options. However, it’s good to know that 5G alone doesn’t make a good phone, but it’s getting more and more likely that every best phone of this year will offer 5G, regardless.

One of the key selling points of the Galaxy A32 is the latest Android 11 OS offering on top of Samsung’s One UI 3.0 interface. This brings out lots of customizable options including the easy modification of app icons, Dark mode, Game Booster, Eye-care mode, and many other features.

Samsung Galaxy A32 Review: Battery Capacity

The Samsung Galaxy A32 offers a massive 5000mAh battery tank. Fortunately, this is the biggest among other mid-range phones launched by Samsung this year. Also, the battery can be charged at up to 15W via a wired connection. Unfortunately, there’s no wireless charging capability yet but we expect to see it on newer models.

The Samsung Galaxy A32 is expected to start selling for ₦130,000 (roughly $322).
