For the past few years, Xiaomi has become a home for mid-range devices, launching lots of them with outstanding specifications while offering at a cheap price. However, the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro is the latest device from the Chinese company and sports a lot of features that are far above its price tag. Also, it’s one of the few handsets you can comfortably buy without breaking a bank.
The Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro offers a total of six cameras; five at the rear and one upfront. Also, Xiaomi equipped the phone with other numerous features including a Snapdragon 730G chipset, 6GB /8GB of RAM, 128GB /256GB of built-in storage, and 5260mAh battery life.
While a lot of other devices with almost the same specs are competing with the Mi CC9 Pro, we’ve taken out time to level out the total specs to know whether it’s worth your buy.

Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro: Design and Build-up
The Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro features one of the best-looking design aesthetics on a flagship device. The body is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 in the front and rear panel, alongside an aluminum frame binding it together. However, the smartphone weighs heavily at 208g which is a result of its massive battery capacity and five lenses. It’s available in triple color options of Magic Green, Phantom Black, and Ice Aurora, but we found the latter more captivating.
Upfront, the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro’s display is slightly curved on the edges with a teardrop notch on top that houses the selfie camera. Fortunately, Xiaomi has reduced the bezels to pave way for a bigger display. On the rear is the Mi CC9 Pro’s five-camera arrangement, with three lenses positioned on top, while the remaining two are placed slightly below them. However, the camera bump is quite bulky thereby making it wobble when placed horizontally.
The power button and volume rocker are perfectly positioned on the top right corner while the dual SIM tray sits below. However, Xiaomi decided to leave the left side of the phone empty to give us a clearer look at the curved-screen and thin bezels. However, at the bottom, you’ll find the 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C port, and the primary microphone.
Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro: Display
The Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro comes with a 6.47-inch Full HD+ AMOLED panel, alongside a 2340 × 1080 pixels resolution. Fortunately, Xiaomi protected the screen with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 which added to the selling point of the phone. However, while the colors are vibrant, the screen isn’t bright enough, although it can go up to 600 nits, but we found it quite hard to comfortably operate the phone under direct sunlight.
Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro: Camera Review
On the camera side, the handset offers a 32-MP selfie camera, while the rear has a penta camera arrangement including a 108-MP primary shooter, 12-MP telephoto lens, another 5-MP telephoto lens, 20-MP ultra-wide shooter, and 2-MP macro camera.
As usual, we had expected an impressive camera quality from Xiaomi and they didn’t disappoint us on that. The 32-MP selfie camera photos look impressive shots with enough colors and sharp details. Fortunately, even in lowlight scenarios, photos taken are great for social media upload. Also, the portrait mode blurs the background perfectly and the dynamic range is excellent too.
Switching over to the penta rear camera arrangement, the default photo mode is quite impressive with enough details and natural color reproduction. For the 108-MP primary shooter, the image quality is great and very similar to that of a flagship device. Fortunately, lowlight photos look great too. In night mode settings, the image looked balanced without any noise. Portrait images taken are great as well with enough blur to separate the subject from its background.
For videos, you can shoot up to 4K at 30fps, 1080p at either 30, 60, 120, or 240fps, and 720p at 960fps.
Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro: Hardware, Performance, and Software
Under the hood, the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro features a Snapdragon 730G chipset paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. Also, there’s an Adreno 618GPU that handles graphics duties. The Mi CC9 Pro is capable to handle any kind of task threw at it. In general, we didn’t experience any hiccups be it in gaming, wen browsing, navigation between apps, and even in multitasking.
Android 9 Pie acts as the phone’s operating system with Xiaomi’s MIUI 12 laid overlay. As normal with Google, the interface is neat and easy to operate. It offers varieties of Mi pre-installed apps including Mi Store, Mi Video, Mi Home, Mi Community, and many others.
Also, the interface comes with an option for a drawer-style home screen and allows the user to view the content center when swiping up from the bottom of the screen. As usual, a system dark mode is available, and it allows the users to schedule or manually switch to reading mode. However, out of the 128GB built-in storage only 112GB of it is available for usage.
Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro: Battery Capacity
A massive 5260mAh battery cell is equipped in the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro. Also, it features a 30W fast charging support that took us just one hour to fully power the device from empty. As you’d expect, the phone was able to last for 48 hours on moderate use.
Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro: Price in Nigeria and Availability
The Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro was launched and released on November 2019. Fortunately, the handset is available for purchase at any online and offline phone outlet in Nigeria.
As for the price, the Mi CC9 Pro starts at ₦165,000 (roughly $404) for the 6GB and 128GB variants. However, you’re paying ₦205,000 (about $502) for the 8GB and 256GB model.
