The Redmi 9t and Poco M3 have similar specs apart from the 8-MP ultra-wide sensor that’s absent on the Poco M3. Undoubtedly, the two phones from the Chinese brands offer the same 6.53-inch display, Full HD+ resolution, 4 /6GB of RAM, 64GB /128GB built-in storage, improved Snapdragon 662 chipset, and a massive 6000mAh battery capacity.

Xiaomi Redmi 9t: Design and Display
One general problem of many smartphones is that they seem to abhor any kind of bright colors. However, the Redmi 9t doesn’t shy away from these bright colors, rather comes with varieties of them. The phone is available in four different colors of Twilight Blue, Ocean Green, Carbon Grey, and Sunrise Orange. We’re satisfied with Xiaomi’s choice of colors as they really scream fun. Also, the rear case is scratch-resistant, making sure the phone’s glossy finish doesn’t fade away after few months of manhandling.
Fortunately, Xiaomi shuns the trend of excluding audio jack but instead maintains it on the Redmi 9t. This allows you to plug in wired headphones if you’re gaming in public or wants to listen to audio privately. Also, it gives you enough space since you won’t have to worry about carrying wireless headphones while going to work or walking out.
On the left side of the phone is the dual-SIM tray which is accompanied by the SDcard slot. Meanwhile, the volume keys and power button/fingerprint sensor occupies the right side. On the bottom are the USB-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, microphone jack, and speaker grill.
The Xiaomi Redmi 9t is a pretty light device and weighs just 198g despite its large battery size. It’s a great relief as you can comfortably hold the phone with one hand while going out without feeling much weight.
One thing we love about the Redmi 9t is how strong it’s built to withstand smudge and its amazing design. However, this doesn’t mean that the phone is not good on display. The Redmi 9t has a similar 6.53-inch display with Full HD+ (1080 × 2340 pixels) resolutions and an 83.4% screen-to-body ratio with the Poco M3.
These display specifications are pretty good for watching your favorite shows, playing games, or browsing the internet. Images look crisp and clear with enough black colors. Although there’s no refresh rate here, the Redmi 9t still manages to perform better than most phones with that feature.
Xiaomi Redmi 9t: Cameras
The Xiaomi Redmi 9t has a very impressive camera with complete lenses for every scenario. On the front is the same 8-MP selfie camera that’s found on Poco M3 which is great for making video calls or photos.
However, the real magic comes in the rear quad camera set-up. This sports a 48-MP primary shooter, 8-MP ultra-wide lens, 2-MP macro lens, and 2-MP depth sensor. These works together to bring out wonderful shots with enough details and natural colors.
That being said, the cameras are good, but not great compared to the ones on Samsung or iPhone devices. However, they tend to deliver exceptionally especially when it comes to low-light shots, thanks to the LED light and camera software.
Hardware Performance and Software
When it comes to performance, the Xiaomi Redmi 9t plays all the graphics-intense games smoothly without any lags. The phone’s Snapdragon 662 chipset paired with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM works perfectly to deliver a seamless performance.
When it comes to storage, there’s dual built-in storage options of 64GB and 128GB with an SDcard slot which can contain up to 512GB SDcard.
The Xiaomi Redmi 9t runs on Android 10 OS with MIUI 12 skin overlay. Fortunately, the latest MIUI 12 brings a lot of tweaks including Dark mode, improved animation and Privacy, Dual apps, Quick Ball, App lock, Second space, Game turbo, Floating window, and many others.
Xiaomi Redmi 9t: Battery Capacity
The 6000mAh battery cell on the Redmi 9t is the biggest we’ve seen on a mid-range smartphone. Apart from being good on paper, the battery does great on performance too. Fortunately, Poco equipped the phone with an 18W battery support which takes about 2 hours to charge the phone from 0 to 100%.

The Xiaomi Redmi 9t is currently priced at ₦68,000 (roughly $178) for the 4GB of RAM and 64GB variant, while the 128GB storage variant will cost you ₦78,000 (equivalent to $204).
