How to Set SIM Card PIN on Android

To establish a security PIN/password for your SIM cards, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Settings on your Android device.
  2. Access Security & Location (for Tecno devices), Password & Security – Privacy (for Redmi users), Biometrics and Security – Other Security Settings (for Samsung users).
  3. Find “Set up SIM card lock.”
  4. Tap on “Lock SIM card” to enable.
  5. Input the default SIM card PIN for Glo, MTN, 9mobile, and Airtel, which is usually 0000.
  6. Once entered, you can change your SIM card PIN from the default (0000) to a PIN of your choice.

Note: Every registered SIM card (9mobile, MTN, GLO, or Airtel) has a default SIM PIN code, generally set as 0000.

How to Set SIM Card PIN on iPhone

For iPhone users, setting a PIN lock for MTN, Glo, Airtel, and 9mobile is straightforward:

  1. Locate iPhone settings on your respective iOS devices.
  2. Tap on Cellular.
  3. Find SIM PIN.
  4. Tap on SIM PIN.
  5. Toggle the SIM PIN on.
  6. Input your current SIM PIN or the default SIM PIN.
  7. If using the default SIM card lock PIN, change it to a new one.
