Unfortunately, it features a simple design without the latest trend which is similar to other Samsung mid-range devices. However, the Galaxy M62 does offer mind-blowing features that’ll captivate the interest of every user. You can mistake the Galaxy M62 for F62 because of their similar design. Meanwhile, the main selling points of the phone are its AMOLED display, cameras, processors, and massive 7000mAh battery life.

Design and Display

The Samsung Galaxy M62 sports a simple but unique square shape design that is slightly rounded at the edges. At first glance, you’ll notice this is a big-size handset that always catches the eyes of the user. The Galaxy M62 has 163.9 x 76.3 x 9.5 mm dimensions which will make it difficult for those with small hands to hold comfortably. However, if you’re a big fan of the big-sized phone, then the M62 is the perfect choice for you.

At the back of the phone, you’ll easily notice a square camera module that houses the rear camera. Unfortunately, the camera bump slightly protrudes which causes the phone not to lie comfortably when positioned horizontally. Moving down the camera module you’ll notice Samsung’s official branding logo scripted boldly on the middle. The fingerprint scanner is positioned at the right edge of the phone which also functions as the power button. Also, because of the large battery capacity, the M62 weighs larger than most devices at 218g.

Turning over to the front panel, you’ll easily notice a small dot that distracts your attention from the screen. However, this is more preferable compared to the waterdrop notch that’s found on most phones of this price. Undoubtedly, the Samsung Galaxy M62 offers an attractive look with amazing colors of Laser Green, Laser Gray, and Laser Blue.

The Samsung Galaxy M62 comes with a 6.7-inch screen that’s among the biggest we’ve ever seen. It’s a Super AMOLED Plus display with up to 420nits of brightness that makes it easier to view under direct sunlight. Fortunately, you can comfortably play games, watch videos, or browse the internet at a very smooth refresh rate. Color reproduction is great too, with enough details and vibrant colors.

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy M62 is a great camera device that features a quad-camera setup. The M62 has a 64-MP sensor as its primary camera, which works alongside a 12-MP ultra-wide sensor, 5-MP macro lens, and another 5-MP sensor that handles depth duties.

The Samsung Galaxy M62 camera takes your photo to the next level. There’s no doubt that they takes better pictures than most professional cameras out there. The camera’s bokeh effect can easily recognize the main subject and blur the background. Also, you can capture extraordinary portrait photos by easily adjusting the field of view to suit your desired taste.

Upfront, there’s a 32-MP selfie camera that takes perfect photos and also blurs the image background. For videos, you can shoot up to 4k and 1080p videos from both side cameras 30fps. Fortunately, Samsung provided an HDR option on the M62 for cinema-like photos.

Processor, Memory, and Software

The Galaxy M62 features Samsung’s own Exynos 9825 chip that works along with a single 8GB of RAM. Also, there’s a Mali-G76 MP12 that handles graphics duties. Fortunately, there’s dual storage variant of 128GB and 256GB which you can upgrade via the dedicated SDcard slot. This gives you enough space to download your favorite applications, games, or videos without worrying about insufficient storage capacity.

Undoubtedly, the Samsung Galaxy M62 is a great device for multitasking. You can comfortably run multiple apps in the background without any lag. Also, playing high-end games like PUGB, Call of Duty, or Asphalt 9 played smoothly even at high refresh rate settings.

Running the phone is the latest Android 11 ship, along with Samsung’s One UI 3.1 interface. This combines to give the Galaxy M62 a smoother and more customizable experience. Samsung surprised us by equipping a massive battery cell in the Galaxy M62. It’s rare to find a phone with up to 7000mAh battery, but Samsung offers it at a very cheap price. Of course, this is the best selling part of this phone and you’re comfortably getting up to 3 days of talk time on moderate use.

Inside the box is a 25W charger that completely charges the phone from zero within 2 hours. Also, there’s a reverse charge option that allows the M62 to power other phones.

Samsung Galaxy M62: Price in Nigeria and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy M62 starts selling at ₦190,000 (about $500) for the 8GB of RAM with a 128GB storage variant. However, you’ll pay ₦230,000(roughly $605) for the model with the same RAM but higher 256GB of storage. Unfortunately, the bigger storage variant won’t be available depending on your location.

Fortunately, you can comfortably order the M62 at jumia and jiji or you can choose to buy offline at all leading offline phone stores in Nigeria and beyond.
