Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro Review and Price in Nigeria

The latest Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro is one of the best phone bargains we have ever seen. It gives you a flagship-like performance while offering at just ₦150,000 (roughly $394).

However, there’s one missing feature that might stop you from buying this device – a 5G connection. This smartphone is limited to only 4G, so you have to be happy with the lower internet speed when using the phone. Also, you’ll struggle with video stabilization while capturing videos above 1080p. However, the rest apart from these two features are perfect.

There’s a large 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen, with a Snapdragon 732G that gives you the best gaming experience, including the best speakers we have ever seen on a phone of this price. Also, a 108-MP camera produces nice photos both in daylight and lowlight scenarios. Unlike most phones, the Redmi Note 10 Pro’s 5020mAh battery cell lasts well despite having a 120Hz refresh rate.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro faces competition with the Realme X50 Pro 5G, which is a perfect substitute if you want 5G connectivity. Or there’s Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC from the same company which is heavier and has an LCD panel instead of AMOLED. We’ve outlined the total features, specs, and current price of the Redmi Note 10 Pro, including how it levels against other phones of this price.

Design

Design

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro features a mix of both high-end and low-end design trends you’ll love to see. For example, it comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack which is absent on most flagship devices but has a curved Gorilla Glass and not the plastic back that’s on most smartphones today. However, what makes it look like a mid-range device is the plastic on its sides rather than metal.

The most outstanding design trait here isn’t actually the glass back, but rather the way its rear camera looks like. The main lens is surrounded by shiny silver aluminum which sets the camera module apart from other phones.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro gives you a comfortable feeling with a thickness of 8.1mm and weighs just 193g. The rear of the Redmi Note 10 Pro has a pleasant satin finish that glows when light reflects on it. You can buy the phone on any of the Onyx Gray, Glacier Blue, and Gradient Bronze color options.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner that’s fast and reliable. Also, there’s an IR blaster on top which is connected to MI Remote app to allow the phone to double-function as a universal remote. Fortunately, there’s an IP53 dust and splash-proof, but that doesn’t mean the Redmi Note 10 Pro is water-resistant.

Display

Display

Another feature that sets the Redmi Note 10 Pro apart is its display. It’s a fairly large device with 6.67-inch 1080 × 2400 AMOLED display and 120Hz refresh rate.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro offers deep color, excellent sharpness, great contrast, and broad display to cover all your video and gaming. The 120Hz refresh rate means contents will scroll more smoothly than they would be on most phones. This is a great feature as most phones with this price offer just an LCD panel with a 60Hz refresh rate.

The Redmi Note 10 Pro supports HDR10 video and will hit 400 nits at maximum brightness. However, this is not up to the screen brightness level of Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and iPhone 12 Pro Max, but it’s twice the number of most phones that offers at the same price.

Quad Camera

Cameras

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro has an eye-catching 108-MP f/1.9 aperture primary camera. However, the most interesting part of this phone’s camera is the 5-MP tele-macro lens. This is one of the best we’ve come across at this price as most phones feature just 2-MP sensors with a mediocre lenses.

Other sensors of the device include an 8-MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide sensor and a low-end 2-MP f/2.4 OmniVision sensor used to create depth maps on a photo background. The front camera uses a less impressive 16-MP Sony IMX471 that’s similar to the one on the OnePlus 7T.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro camera performance can be tagged as flagship-like especially its excellent macro camera with a 2× zoom. Also, you can comfortably capture nature-close photos with a wonderfully blurry bokeh effect. Fortunately, the Redmi Note 10 Pro night mode incredibly reveals detail in the dark with zero noise.

When it comes to video, the Redmi Note 10 Pro can shoot video at up to 4k resolution at 30fps. However, stabilization only works at 1080p videos which shoot at 30fps.

Performance, Specs, and Software

When it comes to performance, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro comes with a top-notch chipset we never expect. It’s a Snapdragon 732G chipset with some game optimizations which boils down to higher-clocked Adreno 618 graphics.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro’s day-to-day performance is trice the performance level of most phones of this segment. Fortunately, it does perfectly well for gaming too. However, most games will find it difficult to run at 60fps but runs smoothly at 30fps. There’s no doubt that this is the best gaming device at this price, and with dual excellent speakers and an AMOLED screen to make your gaming session a memorable one.

The Redmi Note 10 Pro has a generous 6GB of fast RAM and either 64GB or 128GB built-in storage which are fast too. Also, there’s a higher model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage, but it won’t be available depending on your region.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro features the latest Android 11 OS with Xiaomi’s MIUI 12 interface overlay.

Battery Capacity

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro has a fairly high 5,020mAh battery capacity. This will give you a great battery impression especially when the refresh rate is tuned to 60Hz which is half of its maximum. However, when switched to 120Hz, you’ll likely get 30% left of battery life left by bedtime on moderate use.

Wireless charging support is absent, but the phone has a 33W fast charge which takes you from 0 to 55% in just 30 minutes.
